Factors associated with preterm birth, accuracy rate and coverage rate of the clinical guideline of preterm labor and success rate in preterm uterine contraction inhibition in Mahasarakham Hospital

Objectives : To evaluate the factors associated with preterm birth, accuracy rate and coverage rate of the clinical guideline of preterm labor and success rate in preterm uterine contraction inhibition in Mahasarakham Hospital.
Methods : The retrospective study collected data form medical records. Inclusion criteria were all pregnant women between 260/7 to 366/7 weeks of gestation who admitted to the labor room of Mahasarakham Hospital between October 2021 to November 2022. Report by quantity, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Analyzed the relationship between factors affecting preterm labor using logistic regression analysis, statistically significant level, P-value <0.05.
Result : Analysis was performed on 145 pregnant women. The significant factors associated with preterm birth were history readmitted of preterm uterine contraction more than one time (ORadj 25.77, 95%CI 7.81 -84.96, P <0.001), cervical dilatation at the time of admission (ORadj 6.77, 95%CI 2.09-21.92, P =0.001) and obstetric complications (ORadj 3.83, 95%CI 1.50-9.78, P =0.005). Overall accuracy rate and coverage rate of the clinical guideline of preterm labor was 50.34% and success rate of preterm birth inhibition was 64.14%.
Conclusion : Factors associated with preterm birth were history readmitted of preterm uterine contraction more than one time, cervical dilatation at the time of admission and obstetric complications. Accuracy rate and coverage rate of the clinical guideline of preterm labor was 50.34% and success rate of preterm birth inhibition was 64.14%.
