Factors Predicting the Behaviors of Evidence-based Practice in Normal Labor Care of Intrapartum Nurses

Objective : To identify factors predicting evidence-based practice (EBP) behaviors in normal labor care among intrapartum nurses.
Methods : This analytical cross-sectional study employed stratified random sampling to recruit 155 delivery room nurses from Health Region 3 between June 1, 2024 and July 31, 2024. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire consisting of six parts: (1) Personal information, (2) Attitudes, (3) Conformity to reference groups, (4) Perceived behavioral control, (5) Knowledge regarding EBP, and (6) EBP behaviors. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and stepwise multiple regression.
Results : Participants demonstrated high levels of attitude towards reference groups and perceived behavioral control, whereas knowledge of EBP and EBP behaviors were at moderate levels. Conformity to reference groups significantly predicted 11% of the variance in EBP behaviors (R²=0.11, p<0.001).
Conclusion : Conformity to reference groups in normal labor care is a significant predictor of EBP behaviors among intrapartum nurses.
