The Development of quality standard of Thai Traditional Medicines Service: A Case Study in Chomphra Hospital, Chomphra District, Surin Province Thailand

Abstract

The traditional medicine is both science and art of heath care. An integra- tion of Thai
traditional medicine into the modern medicine system is one guideline for promoting people to have good health.
Objective : Thus the researcher was interested in Thai traditional medicine service development for developing and seeking new choices of people’s heath care.

Method : The action research study was aimed at development of quality standard of Thai traditional medicines service: A case study in Chomphra hospital, Chomphra district, Surin province Thailand. Sample community Health Network in the40 people. Data ware collected using a questionnaire, in-depth interview, Focus group discussions and observation through 4 phase of research procedure includ- ing 1) The phase of situation of quality standard of Thai Traditional Medicines Ser- vice in Chompra Hospital, Surin province 2) The phase of planning to develop the system 3) The phase of developing of services 4) The phase of qualitative and quantitative data analysis using frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation

Result : The result shows that, after the processes, the knowledge, partici- pation and
satisfaction of the samples increase with statistical significance at 0.05. In the case of this
study, has developed quality standard of Thai traditional medi- cines service, (Appreciation
Influence Control: P-A-O-R) guidelines for the develop- ment of quality standard of Thai Traditional medicines service in the area thus, 1) Unit Thai traditional medicines 2) Livable Thai traditional medicines 3) Home visits 4) Dissemination of health knowledge to the community 5) Thai traditional medicines clinic.
