Development for Thai tradition medical information management into the national health security office (NHSO) standard in the Sub-district health promoting hospital of Kantrarom District, Sisaket Province

Abstract

                The present study was aimed at developing management information for the Thai tradition medicine at the Sub district health promoting hospital of Kantrarom District, Srisaket Province. The development aims to reach the standard criteria of the NHSO of which the collected data has been reliable, precise and accurate.

                The action research was conducted using 4 consequent protocols comprised of 1: pre action phrase by activity’s pattern and data evaluation prior to action, 2: action phrase by workshop of information management, follow up and evaluation, 3: Follow up phrase by evaluating the data input via the district central data base and the knowledge of the information management among the data collectors, 4: reflection phrase by lessen learning for implied activities and reaching a conclusion.

                The results showed that in the pre-action phrase the collected data had not been approved. The data collector lacked understanding of the data collection and data had not been continually evaluated. After the action phrase, the participation in workshop and follow up by evaluation of the data collected, 8 (47.06%) of the Sub district health promoting hospitals passed the quality evaluation by NHSO’s criteria. During the follow up phrase, knowledge management and data testing at the central data base, 16 (94.12%) of the Sub district health promoting hospitals had improved and passed the quality evaluation by NHSO’s criteria.  Finally, the reflection phrase showed the increased capability of lesson learning among the data collectors which increased the reliability and accuracy of Thai tradition medical information.

                In conclusion, data collection personnel shall be trained to increase the data collection skill by participating in regular workshops with follow up by the data collection regularly evaluated.
