Factors Associated with the Management Efficiency of the Local Health Insurance Fund in Mueang Trang District, Trang Province

Abstract

Objective : 1) To study the efficiency, and 2) To study factors associated with the management efficiency of the Local Health Security Fund in Mueang Trang District, Trang Province.

Methods : This study is a cross-sectional analytical research. The sample consisted of 150 fund committee members from 16 funds in Mueang Trang District, Trang Province, selected via multi-stage sampling. The research instrument was a three-part questionnaire, validated for content validity CVI = 0.96) and reliability α = 0.88). Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis.

Result : The evaluation results revealed that the management efficiency regarding three factors—Personnel ( = 4.38), Resources ( = 4.33), and Process ( = 4.44)—was at a very high level. These factors had a statistically significant positive correlation with overall efficiency (p < 0.001). The Personnel factor showed the highest correlation coefficient (R = 0.904), followed by Resources (R = 0.838) and Process (R = 0.824). Multiple regression analysis indicated that only the Personnel factor had a statistically significant relationship with management efficiency (p < 0.001).

Conclusion : The management efficiency of the Local Health Security Fund in Mueang Trang District, Trang Province, is at a high level, with the Personnel factor having the most significant influence on operational performance. Developing personnel competency, coupled with appropriate resource allocation and a transparent monitoring system, is crucial for sustainably enhancing efficiency and the quality of life of the people.
