Analysis of medical supply management system in Health promotion hospitals

This Retrospective Research was aimed to analyze medical supply management system (MSMS) of Health promotion hospital (HPH) in Si Songkhram District, Nakhon Phanom Province, during January 2021 – March 2021. Data were collected by Medical supply control program and evaluation of inventory management system. All data were analyzed by Paired t-test, and One sample t-test. Results: The MSMS was done by increase the cycle of visits to assess of MSMS, cut the drug list, and limit the imbursement amount, create a prescribing information management system to control drug imbursement and control patient history records found that cost of drug in HPH, expired drug value, drug value nearing expiration within 6 months and inventory reserve rate of HPH according to the standard (not more than 3 months) were decreased with significantly significant (P<0.01). However, drug stock out increased with significantly (P<0.01). Conclusion: The development of MSMS helps to save drug budget, and control the recording of the treatment history to be correct and complete. Therefore, it should be encouraged continuous operations, monitoring performance and potential obstacles for further improvement.
