Role Model in National Hospital Guidelines of Therapeutic Nutrition for Diabetis Mellitus and Hypertension, Police General Hospital

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to 1) examine the guidelines to be a hospital role model for therapeutic nutrition for diabetes mellitus and hypertension at a national level and 2) develop the hospital to be a role model and learning resource for other hospitals. The study utilized an evaluation research method with qualitative research data by considering 4 components to evaluate hospital of therapeutic nutrition for diabetes mellitus and hypertension including: research tool with statistics report, reference picture, appointment command, in-patient and out-patient record, NAF (Nutrition Alert Form), patient interview and all other procedure applying data analysis theory and PDCA methodology.

According to survey at role model hospital of therapeutic nutrition for Diabetic Mellitus and Hypertension diseases on July 23, 2015, indicated that the Police General Hospital passed the role model of hospital of therapeutic nutrition for Diabetic Mellitus and Hypertension diseases standard in area health level by score 80 from 100 point or calculated as 80 % and the score can be classified in 4 parts the first part score 11 points or 84.62 on average, the second part score 37 points or 88.10 on average, the third part score 14 points or 77.78 on average and  the fourth part score 18 points or 66.67 on average.  In case the Police General Hospital aims to become the role model of hospital of therapeutic nutrition for Diabetic Mellitus and Hypertension diseases in country level, the Police General Hospital has to receive not less than 80 points in every evaluation aspects and in order to achieve that,  the Police General Hospital could begin from reforming public relation process for staffs and hospital users, developing the standard for medical nutrition therapy procedure, supporting and supervising patient as a whole with multidisciplinary, managing primary care unit or network to sustainably update the result of nutritional therapy, along with using the collected data to analysis and adapting the solution according to situation and needed or researching or conducting R2R and publishing the result to the public.
