The Participatory Model of Dental Health Promotion in Primary school students in Khuangnai Sub-district, Khuangnai District, Ubon Ratchathani Province

Abstract

                This action research aimed to study the participatory model of dental health promotion in primary school students in Khuangnai district, UbonRatchathani province. The study was divided into 3 phases; the preparation phase, the action phase and the evaluation phase. The sample group for the qualitative data collection included  24 participants who were responsible for dental care of  Khuangnai district, health volunteers, 6^th grade teachers, leader of students  and  parents. The sample group for the quantitative data collection included 125 6^th year primary school students in Khuangnai Charoenrat school. Data were collected from April – September 2016. Data were analyzed by using computer programs and content analysis. Paired sample t-test was performed for comparison before and after the process.

                 After the overall of operation project implementation knowledge, attitudes,  practice, oral health status  of 6^th year primary school students and participate of stakeholders had statistically significant increase (p-value < 0.001)

                 The key success factor included participatory of network association. It  should be adjusted and implemented in other grades of schools and apply to other students with similar characteristics.;
