บทคัดย่อ

Disseminated histoplasmosis in HIV-infected patients often presented with erythematous maculopapular eruption. Carbon dioxide laser can be used to ablate the epidermal layer of this lesion to identify the underlying pathogenic yeast cells by skin smear method.

This new method is safe and effective for diagnosis of this opportunistic fungal infection in HIV-infected individuals.
