Ethics Investigation and Resolution Process

The Thai Journal of Anesthesiology is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record and addressing allegations of research or publication misconduct in a fair, transparent, and timely manner. Suspected misconduct may include, but is not limited to, plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate publication, authorship disputes, undisclosed conflicts of interest, ethical approval violations, and peer-review manipulation.

When concerns are raised regarding a submitted or published manuscript, the journal will investigate the matter in accordance with the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

  1. Preliminary Assessment

The Editor-in-Chief and editorial team conduct an initial evaluation of the allegation and supporting evidence to determine whether further investigation is warranted.

  1. Investigation and Evidence Review

If necessary, an impartial investigation is undertaken. Relevant materials, including manuscripts, reviewer reports, plagiarism-detection results, correspondence, and supporting documentation, may be examined to assess the validity and severity of the concern.

  1. Author Response

The corresponding author, and where appropriate all co-authors, will be informed of the allegation and provided with an opportunity to respond and submit relevant explanations or evidence.

  1. Confidentiality and Fairness

All investigations are conducted confidentially and impartially. The identities of individuals involved and the details of the investigation will be protected to the extent permitted by the review process and applicable regulations.

  1. Editorial Decision and Corrective Actions

Following review of all available evidence, the journal will determine the appropriate course of action. Depending on the nature and severity of the misconduct, actions may include manuscript rejection, publication of a correction or expression of concern, article retraction, notification of relevant institutions or funding agencies, or restrictions on future submissions.

  1. Outcome Notification

The journal will communicate the outcome of the investigation to the relevant parties. If no misconduct is substantiated, the case will be closed without further action.

The Thai Journal of Anesthesiology is committed to ensuring that all investigations are conducted in accordance with the principles of research integrity, procedural fairness, and the highest standards of publication ethics.
