Developing laboratory examination of evidence in sexual offence cases: A case study of Regional Medical Sciences Center 10 Ubon Ratchathani aims to establish a networking laboratory and develop towards obtaining international standards quality certification. The process of development consists of 1) establish a networking laboratory by the way of transfer technology examination of Evidence in sexual offence cases into 2 tests; acid phosphatase analysis by Davies’s method and sperm’s finding by staining method and supporting acid phosphatase screening test 2) ISO 15189 accreditation 3) provide proficiency testing (PT) service and 4) ISO/IEC 17043 accreditation. The results showed that 2 workshops organized in 1996 and 2002 for 65 laboratories after that more than 20 laboratories open for analytical service. Provided educational study tours and academic consultation. Supported Acid phosphatase screening reagent kit more than 250 kits per year. Received quality certification according to ISO 15189 in 2016 until now. Provided PT provider of rape test which is the only agency in Thailand that provide service for 30 participants per year and certified ISO/IEC 17043 in 2019 until now. The achievement of this development of laboratory’s examination of sexual assault’s sample can be used as a guidance of other qualitative testing. Both in terms of upgrading the laboratory to be more reliable and developing the potential to carry out proficiency testing scheme.
