Development of a Quality Control Data Recording Program for Nuclear Medicine at Udon Thani Cancer Hospital

Abstract

        The development of a quality control data recording program aims to create a data recording program for documenting quality control, radiopharmaceutical preparation, and preparation of various equipment and instruments in nuclear medicine. The program was developed on a web-based software platform that can operate on desktop computers, tablets, or smartphones. This transforms the traditional method of recording data in log files by transitioning to computer program-based data entry. The development process began with examining the existing workflow system that used daily paper documentation, studying user requirements, and designing the data recording program, consisting of 23 programs in total. User satisfaction was evaluated by all 5 staff members responsible for data recording, comprising 3 radiologic technologists and 2 scientists. The evaluation results showed that program efficiency and satisfaction were at the highest satisfaction level, accounting for 94%. The evaluation results before using the data recording program showed the lowest satisfaction level at 28.8%. The evaluation results after using the data recording program showed the highest satisfaction level at 100%. After implementing the program, staff found it more convenient to operate, data accuracy improved, data loss was prevented, and data is stored on the server. This program can be further developed and adapted for use in hospitals providing nuclear medicine services.
