Abstract

The objective of this implementation research was to analyze and evaluate rational insecticide use (RIU) for malaria vector control in Chanthaburi and Trat Provinces by the Vector Borne Disease Control Centers (VBDCs). RIU assessment framework, which is based on decision levels for implementing vector control measures, encompassed the precision of insecticide application, the qualification of insecticide application, and the spacing and timing of insecticide application. RIU decision levels between VBDC 6.5 Chanthaburi and VBDC 6.4 Trat did not statistically differ with each other (F = 2.058, P = 0.162) and were not influenced by the observers (F = 0.510, P = 0.481). Findings implied the improvement of service plan, and particularly, the development of RIU system used in vector control as service innovation that can be linked to the existing online malaria system.
