Symphysial - Fundal Height and Birth Weight in Normal Pregnancy

Abstract

Labour record of the year 1994 was randomized and 859 normal term pregnant women who were in labour pain 6 intact membranes, admitted in labour room for delivery were study about relation of uterine fundal height and neonatal birthweight. Uterine fundal height was significantly relative with neonatal birthweight. (R2 = 0.277, P < 0.05). The 10th , 90th percentile of uterine fundal height were 32, 40 cm. The 10thpercentile of neonatal birthweight at 32 cm. fundal height was 2,141 grams. The 90th percentile of neonatal birthweight at 40 om. fundal height was 4,006 grams. 52.7% of pregnants had uterine fundus 34-37 cm. high. Neonatal birthweight at 10th , 90th  percentile were 2,550-3,69O grams.
