Prosthetic Management in Microstemic with Oral Lichen Planus Patient : Report of 1 Case

Abstract

Making dentures with good retention, stability and function in microstomic patients with severe alveolar resorption and muscles tension, especially lower complete denture was rather difficult. It needed good communications and patients co-operations. While implant-retained over denture could be one treatment option but some patient who have any restrictions to the operation, did not want any operation or having any economic problems, removable denture was treatment of choice for these patients. The patient in this report had microstomia with oral Iichen planus at buccal mucosa, tension in muscle around the mouth, can not open her mouth wide, treated with removable partial denture in upper arch and complete lower denture in lower arch. With good function and patient’s satisfactions alter 4 visits recalled.
