Abstract

Arterioureteral fistula in pregnancy is a very rare disorder. The author reported a pregnant woman at gestational age of 17 weeks presented with gross hematuria and subsequently severe anemia. During hospitalization, hematuria recurred several times and culprit location could not be identified by transabdominal ultrasonography, cystoscopy and angiography. Subsequent ureteroscopy showed pulsatile bleeding 2 cm proximal to the right ureteric orifice. Explore laparotomy via Gibson incision was performed and a fistula between right uterine artery and distal ureter was identified. Ligation of uterine artery and repair of right ureter with DJ stent insertion were performed. No further bleeding occurred afterward
