Open Access:

Siriraj Medical Journal (SMJ) is committed to open access publishing. All articles are freely available online immediately upon publication without any subscription charges or registration barriers. This allows for wider dissemination of valuable medical research.

Copyright and Author Rights:

  • Copyright Ownership: Upon publication, the copyright of articles published in SMJ belongs to the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. This includes all content within the article (text, figures, and tables).
  • Author Rights: Authors retain certain rights to their work:
    • You can share your published SMJ article through open access means, following the journal's guidelines on attribution and commercial use.
    • You can include your published SMJ article in your thesis or dissertation.
    • You can reuse portions of your published SMJ article in future works, provided you cite the original SMJ article appropriately.
  • Reusing Figures and Tables: If you wish to reuse any figures or tables from your published SMJ article in another publication, you must obtain formal permission from the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital.
    • Submit a written request to the Faculty.
    • Specify the figure(s) or table(s) you wish to reuse and the intended use in the new publication.

Articles published in SMJ are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).

This license allows for:

  • Sharing the work for non-commercial purposes
  • Proper attribution to the authors and the journal

This license does not permit:

  • Modifications of the original work
  • Creation of derivative works (e.g., translations)

Sharing and Promotion:

We encourage authors to share their published articles on their personal or institutional websites and through other non-commercial platforms. This can increase readership and citations for your research.
