DEVELOPMENT OF MODEL FAMILY COUNSELING ON SUICIDAL IDEA OF SUICIDAL ATTEMPTERS

Abstract

This research is experimental research^’s static group comparison design and aims to study the result of model family counseling on suicidal idea of suicidal attempters.The population was suicidal attempters age 15-60 years of Latbualuang Hospital, Ayutthaya 65 families. The sample was collected by simple random sampling 40 families; 20 clients for experimental group and another 20 clients for control group. Instrument collected data 1) questionnaire of model on suicidal of suicidal attempters 9 questions, IOC 1.00 2) Beck Scale for Suicidal Ideation 9 questions, IOC 1.00, Reliability 0.94. Statistics are used to analyses information 1) mean, percentage 2) statistics Paired t-test and Independent t-test

1) Model of suicidal idea for suicidal attempters, mostly drug over dose, Inferior hanging, minimal insecticide.

2) Mean score of suicidal idea for suicidal attempters of experimental group pre- experimental 0.98, post- experimental 0.70 and control group pre-experimental 0.92, post- experimental 0.94.    

3) Mean score of suicidal idea in both groups are essentially different at .01 level. According to the result, the experimental group have lower suicidal idea than that after using model family counseling.
