Factors Influencing Preventive Behavior of Coronavirus Disease 2019 among People in Si Nakhon District, Sukhothai Province

Abstract

The objective of this analytical cross-sectional research was to examine factors Influencing preventive behavior of Coronavirus Disease 2019 among people in Si Nakhon District, Sukhothai Province. Of 406 samples were selected by multi-stage sampling including stratified random sampling and simple random techniques (SRS). The research instrument was a questionnaire on knowledge, attitude, social support, awareness of risk Coronavirus 2019 and prevention behavior of Coronavirus 2019. The research tools were test, knowledge tool was using KR-20 and getting confidence value of 0.72. The attitude questionnaire, social support, awareness of risk coronavirus 2019 and prevention behavior coronavirus 2019 was using Cronbach's Alpha that confidence values were 0.78, 0.80, 0.86 and 0.80, respectively. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, median, maximum, minimum, and multiple linear regression.

The results found the factors that predicting the prevention behavior of coronavirus 2019 were awareness risk of disease (β = 0.223, p < 0.01), perceived severity of disease (β = 0.174, p = 0.05), perceived benefits of disease prevention practice (β = 0.167, p < 0.05) and primary education level (β = 0.129, p = 0.01). The results of this study can be used to promote awareness of risk, the severity of the disease, and the benefits of self-defense to support the people's preventive behaviors from coronavirus 2019.
