Effectiveness of Chitprapatsorn Parents School Teaching Program through Social Media Applications for Primigravida Women during the Ante-natal, Det Udom Royal Crown Prince Hospital

Abstract

This quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest research aimed to study the effectiveness of teaching program for ante-natal primigravida women and husbands. The purposive samples of 50 twelve-week-period ante-natal primigravida women of Det Udom Royal Crown Prince Hospital. The pregnant women participated in the activities in the program with their husbands. The research was conducted from September 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021. The tools used in the research include teaching programs via social media according to training lessons for professional Chitprapatsorn parent schools. The research data collection tools were general information, practice knowledge testing during pregnancy, and stress assessment (SPST-20). Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics.  Paired samples t-test was employed to compare the knowledge and stress during pregnancy before and after the program. The study found that knowledge and stress scores during the ante-natal period between before and after the experiment of the selective participants had an increasing level of the average knowledge score, while the stress score during pregnancy was significantly decreasing on the level of p<.05.
