Personal Characteristics and Organizational Support Affecting an Elderly Care of Village Health Volunteers at Ban Ueang Sub-District Si Songkhram District Nakhon phanom Province.

Abstract

This cross-sectional analytical research were to study the personal characteristics, and examine prediction factors support of the organization that related for caring of the elderly of village health volunteers in Ban Amon District, Si Songkhram District Nakhon Phanom Province. The sample group was simple selection of 159 village health volunteer in Ban Amon District, Si Songkhram District, Nakhon Province. The research tools were the questionnaires for collecting quantitative data, and in-depth interview guidelines for collecting qualitative. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, and inference statistics that including the correlation coefficient of Pearson and step-by-step multilaterial regression analysis.

The results found overall of the level of support from the organization and the level of care for the elderly of village health volunteers was moderate level ( =2.20, S.D.=0.36) and ( =2.27,S.D.=0.41)  respectively. There were four variables consist of support from the management organization, personnel, materials, equipment, and personal characteristics of income that might be predicted of the elderly care of village health volunteers in Ban Amon District Sri District Nakhon Phanom Province by 49.1% (R²=0.491).

The finding of study should be encouraged and support the village health volunteers to participate for operational planning and focus on coordination in caring for the elderly. The level of operation could be at the village level and community level for coordination with other relevant agencies, so that village health volunteers can be caring effectively for the elderly.
