บทคัดย่อ

โรคเกาต์เป็นโรคข้ออักเสบเฉียบพลันที่พบบ่อยที่สุดในปัญหาโรคกระดูกและข้อซึ่งส่งผลกระทบด้านสาธารณสุขในหลายประเทศทั่วโลกในปัจจุบัน โรคเกาต์เกิดจากการมีระดับของกรดยูริกในเลือดสูงกว่าปกติ จนทำให้เกิดผลึกของเกลือโมโนโซเดียมยูเรตที่บริเวณข้อและเนื้อเยื่อรอบข้อ ส่งผลให้เกิดกระบวนการอักเสบของข้อ ทำให้ผู้ป่วยทุกข์ทรมานจากอาการปวดข้อที่รุนแรง หากผู้ป่วยมีระดับกรดยูริกในเลือดสูงอย่างต่อเนื่องจะเกิดการสะสมของเกลือโมโนโซเดียมยูเรตจนจับตัวกันเป็นปุ่มโทฟัส บริเวณข้อและเนื้อเยื่อรอบข้อ และผิวหนัง ซึ่งทำให้เกิดข้อจำกัดด้านการเคลื่อนไหว ในผู้ป่วยบางรายอาจเกิดภาวะทุพพลภาพ นอกจากนี้แล้วโรคเกาต์ยังมีความสัมพันธ์กับการเกิดโรคร่วมต่าง ๆ อีกทั้งยังเพิ่มอัตราการเสียชีวิตและทำให้คุณภาพชีวิตของผู้ป่วยลดลง บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อนำเสนอความรู้เกี่ยวกับโรคเกาต์และบทบาทพยาบาลในการดูแลผู้ป่วยโรคเกาต์ ซึ่งจะเป็นประโยชน์สำหรับพยาบาลในการประยุกต์ใช้ความรู้ดังกล่าวเพื่อดูแลผู้ป่วยโรคเกาต์อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ทั้งในด้านการลดความรุนแรงของโรคและการส่งเสริมให้ผู้ป่วยดูแลตนเองได้อย่างถูกต้องและเหมาะสม
