Abstract
Objective: to study outcome of colon cleaning by swiff 2 times with soap suds enema and swiff 3 times with non-soap suds enema before colonoscopy among patients with colorectal cancer screening.
Methods: study design of this study was descriptive study. All data were collected from medical records of patients who were received colon cleaning. Of 72 patients used swiff 2 times with soap sud Enema (SSE) and 58 patients were swiff 3 time with non-SSE before colonoscopy during July 2017 at Department of Surgery, Roi ET Hospital, Roi Et Province, Thailand. The statistical analyses were used descriptive statistics included percentage, mean and standard derivation.
Results: of 72 patients with swiff 2 times with SSE. Most of them were female 62.50 % with mean age 59.98 years (+SD=6.35). The colonoscopy revealed found colon very poor 1.38 %, poor 12.50 %, fair 37.50 %, good 47.22 % and excellent 1.38 % and found polyp 43.06 %, hemorrhoid 6.94 %, diverticulitis 5.56 % and tubular adenoma 1.39 %. Among 58 patients of swiff 3 times with non-SSE most of them were male 51.72 % with mean age 60.45 years (+SD=6.35). The colonoscopy were found colon poor level 1.72 %, fair 17.24 %, good 62.06 % and excellent 18.96 % and found normal 37.93%, polyp 50.00 %, hemorrhoid 1.72 %, diverticulitis 8.62 % and carcinoma 1.72 %.
Conclusion: this study found out that the percentage of clear colon of swiff 3 times with non-SSE before colonoscopy higher than swiff 2 times with SSE.
