PAIN MANAGEMENT FOR PERINEAL PAIN RELIEF DURING THE POSTPARTUM PERIOD
Abstract
Perineal pain from labor causes soreness and discomfort in postpartum mothers. Perineal pain usually occurs in 1-2 days after delivery and may persist as long as three months. Pain influences postpartum mothers physically and psychologically. It can also create negative attitudes toward labor in addition to higher treatment costs. Good pain management results in postpartum mothers having comfort and freedom from soreness.
