The Participation of Care Giver in Caring of Hospitalization Children with Illness and Factors Related

Abstract

Objectives : To study the different between the participation and need of participation of care giver for hospitalization illness children and the factors related by using Schepp participation of care giver concept.

Methods : This study was corelational descriptive research. All data were collected from care givers who were take care of hospitalization illness children. The children age between 1 month to 15 years who were admitted at Department of Pediatrics of Roi Et Hospital (ward Pediatrics 2 and 3). The data were collected during February 1, 2018 to March 31, 2018 by using questionnaire to interview and research tool for data collected. The questionnaire and research tools cover the general information of children, care giver, participation and need of care giver who were take care illness children during admitted in the hospital. The statistic analysis including percentage, mean, standard derivation, t-test and Pearson correlation were used for data analysis.

Results : The participation of care giver, nursing activities, the exchange information between care giver and nurses, and the decided of care giver were differently and statistically significant (p<0.05). The factors associated with need to participation of care giver statistically significant with the experiences of care giver to take care of illness children (p<0.05). Meanwhile, age of children, age of care giver, education level of care giver, perceived severity and the relationship between care giver and children were statistically non-significant (p>0.05).

Conclusion and recommendations : Nurses should be concern more about need and factors affected to participate of care giver of illness children for supports have more an appropriate methods to take care children during admitted in the hospital for make nursing care of illness children have more efficiency.
