Factors Influencing Nursing Quality Assurance (NQA) Based on the Perceptions of Professional Nurses at Mahasarakham Hospital

Abstract

Objective : To examine the factors influencing Nursing Quality Accreditation (NQA) as perceived by registered nurses at Mahasarakham Hospital.

Methods : This predictive research was conducted among 168 registered nurses working at Mahasarakham Hospital. The research instrument was a structured questionnaire consisting of three parts: 1) personal factors, 2) selected factors, and 3) NQA. Content validity was evaluated by five experts, yielding a content validity index of 0.93. Reliability testing using Cronbach’s alpha coefficients yielded values of 0.96, 0.94, and 0.97, respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson’s product-moment correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.

Results : The findings revealed that : 1) the overall level of NQA, as perceived by registered nurses at Mahasarakham Hospital, was at the highest level ( = 4.28, SD = 0.56) ; 2) personal factors were not significantly associated with NQA; 3) selected factors, including adaptive organizational culture, participation, information technology, and transformational leadership, were positively correlated with NQA at a high level (r = 0.911, 0.896, 0.835, and 0.808, respectively; p < 0.001); and 4) participation, adaptive organizational culture, transformational leadership, age, and training experience in nursing quality assessment jointly predicted NQA, accounting for 91.60 % of the variance (R² = 0.916, p < 0.001).

Conclusion : Participation, adaptive organizational culture, and transformational leadership were significant factors influencing NQA. Nursing organizations should therefore promote personnel participation at all levels, foster an adaptive organizational culture, and strengthen nursing leadership to enhance nursing service quality and achieve sustainable excellence.
