FOOD SATNITATION SITUATION OF FOOD STORES IN A MUNICIPALITY SUB-DISTRICT, MUEANG DISTRIC, NAKHONPANOM PROVINCE

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study food sanitation conditions of food shops in a sub-district municipality, Muang district, Nakhon Phanom Province. The study was conducted in the sample group, namely, food shop owners. Food handlers in restaurants and 65 food outlets in one sub-district municipality, Muang district, Nakhon Phanom Province. The instruments used to collect the data were the food sanitation survey of food stores and the coliform bacterial contamination test kit of ready-to-eat food samples, utensils and food handlers' hands with the initial Test Kit (SI-2). Data were analyzed using statistics such as percentage, mean and standard deviation.  

          The results of the study found that couldn't find a food store that passed the standard by the issues that do not pass the most criteria 84.60 percent were incorrectly placed spoons, chopsticks and utensils and utensils less than 60 cm. from the floor. Incorrect behavior, food shops had the least correct practices, namely, there were buildings located near the place where Full utilities will make it easier to clean 12.30% had coliform bacterial contamination in food handlers' hands 53.79 percent (95% CI 1.85-2.17). Bacteria form in the device container does not qualify. 39.23 percent (95% CI 2.25-2.88) and 22.05% (95% CI 3.92-5.22) coliform bacteria in food failed.

            The coliform bacterial contamination in food did not meet the norm. The knowledge and training on food sanitation to ensure the safety of consumers' health.
