Abstract

This reserch was a case-control study. The purpose of this study was to evaluate risk factors of neonatal polycythemia in Borabue hospital between 1st October 2016 – 31st March 2021. The study groups were neonatal polycythemia (33 subjects) and the control group (66 subjects) did not have neonatal polycythemia. Data analysis was performed through descriptive and Chi-square test. The result showed that the risk factors of neonatal polycythemia were preterm newborns, low birth weight newborns (less than 2,500 grams), small and large for gestational age newborns, infants of diabetic mothers, neonatal pneumonia during admission and delivery by cesarean section.
