Factors affecting the quality of life of elderly clubs in Bang Nok Kwak Bang Tee District, Samut Songkhram Province

Abstract

This research was aimed to investigate the quality of life of the elderlies in the Senior Club to compare the differences between personal factors and the level of quality of life of the elderlies in the Senior Club, Nok Kwaek sub-District, Bang Khonthi District, Samut Songkhram Province. The sample group was 184 elderlies. The statistics employed within the analysis were frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t – test and One-Way ANOVA The findings showed that the level of the quality of life of the elderlies was at the “moderate” level ( =3.26, S.D. =0 .537). When considering each domain, the results showed as follows; the physical domain was at the “moderate” level ( =3.23, S.D.=0.491), social relationship ( =2.94, S.D.=0.694), environment (=3.32, S.D.=0.526). The psychological domain was at the “more” level ( =3.55, S.D. =0.522). The comparison between personal factors and level of the quality of life showed that the elderlies with different income, marital statuses, congenital diseases, care givers and the number of family members reported no difference in stress level. However, the elderlies with different sexes, ages, educational backgrounds, careers, family statuses and groups of friends reported statistically significant difference in stress level at 0.05
