Keywords:
Epidemiological, characteristic COVID-19, SymptomaticAbstract
This analytical cross-sectional study aimed to examine epidemiological characteristics in COVID-19 patients and affected factors, Udon Thani Province. The patients 505 of 9,575 cases during April-August 2021 were recruited and calculated by the sample size estimation formula for logistic regression. Multiple logistic regression was analyzed to describe epidemiological characteristics affected symptomatic.
The finding was presented the most common symptoms in COVID-19 include: cough 40.59%, fever 35.84%, and running nose and sputum 25.35%. Interestingly, the multivariable analysis results, the factors significantly affected symptomatic in patient including: age (20-39 year AdjOR = 1.93: 95%CI = 0.99-3.82, 40-59 year AdjOR = 1.36: 95%CI=0.67-2.74, > 60 year AdjOR = 6.48: 95%CI = 1.65-25.35: p-value = 0.010), occupation (merchant/services AdjOR = 2.75: 95%CI = 1.40-5.41: general worker/construction laborers/contractor AdjOR = 1.26: 95%CI = 0.75-2.21: p-value<0.001, went to outbreak area (AdjOR = 1.76: 95%CI = 1.05-2.95: p-value = 0.030), contacted with COVID 19 confirmed case (AdjOR = 1.67: 95%CI = 1.07-2.60: p-value = 0.022), and went to crowded place (AdjOR = 3.31: 95%CI = 1.39-7.87: p-value = 0.003).
The symptoms of COVID-19 patients had asymptomatic and symptomatic, differing by baseline characteristics such as age occupation. These findings were considered for early detection and prevented the transmission of COVID-19.
