REULTS AFTER SURGICAL TREATMENT OF TRAUMATIC KNEE DISLOCATION WITH 2 STAGE SURGERY
Keywords:
Knee dislocation, post-operative knee surgery care, 2 stage surgeryAbstract
Knee dislocation is uncommon injuries. It is essential to identify severities of the injury to optimize the management plan to avoid adverse sequelae. Knee dislocation has both surgical and non-surgical options. The most effective treatment remain controversial. My studied aim to evaluate the clinical results of knee dislocation treatment with 2 stage surgery of patient in Kalasin Hospital. Aretrospective descriptive study enrolled knee dislocation patients from medical records who admit in Kalasin Hospital between 1 Jury 2018 to 1 Jury 2021.
Knee dislocated patients 30 case divided into 17 men and 13 women. The mean age at the time of injury was 36.5 years is average follow-up was 22.8 months the first operation, 25 people underwent anterior collateral ligament surgery. From the assessment International knee documentation committee (IKDC) average score 73.4% (31%-92%) 8 normal, 10 almost normal, 10 abnormal, 2 severely abnormal.
The 2 stage surgery approach resulted in good outcome for acute knee dislocation patient.A limitation of this study is the small sized study and not long followed. Therefore these results do not support that this surgical approach is the best method. Studies involving more cases and evaluating long term results need to be performed.
