DEVELOPMENT OF THE ORAL HEALTH CARE AND SURVELLANCE MODEL FOR THE ELDERLY IN THE SENIOR CITIZENS CLUB IN PRACHATHIPAT HOSPITAL NETWORK, PATHUM THANI PROVINCE

This research and development aimed to study the results of developing a care and monitoring model for the oral health of the elderly in the senior citizens club at Prachathipat Hospital Network Pathum Thani Province. Sample group was 210 people between August and November 2023. Research instrument was including lesson plans and questionnaires. Using descriptive statistics, paired samples T-Test, and content analysis.
Results of the study found the developing a model for oral health care and monitoring of the elderly involves 4 steps as follows: Situation analysis Program development Organize activities according to the program and evaluation. Lesson plan including 5 activities: building good relationships, assessing perceptions of oral health care and dental services, and enhancing knowledge about risk opportunities. perceived benefits Severity and barriers to dental health care, reducing feelings of fear and exchange learning experiences. It was found that after developing the elderly was awareness and behavior of caring for and monitoring oral health at a high level increased. There was an average increase of 57.6 points (95%CI = 1.93-2.73, p-value < 0.001) Oral health care and monitoring behavior.
There was an average increase of 53.3 points (95%CI = 1.81-2.49, p-value < 0.001) and oral health quality of life. There was an average increase of 20.5 points (95%CI = 7.21-10.05, p-value < 0.001)
Suggestions: Activities should be organized to promote self-efficacy in caring for oral health in the elderly club. For an increased quality of life with good oral health.
