Quality of Life related Oral Health and Its Factors associated with wearing Denture among Elderly Patients to Service in Dentistry Department, Rong Kham Hospital, Kalasin Province.

This cross-sectional descriptive study aimed to the associated between quality of life in oral health and its factors with wearing denture among elderly patients to service in dentistry department, Rong Kham hospital, Kalasin province, during 2018-2022. A total sample of 149 elderly was selected by systematic random sampling. The instrument was used a questionnaire consisted of,
socio-demographic data, the assessment of Oral Health Impact Profile for Edentulous Patients
(OHIP-EDENT), behaviors according caring and wearing denture, wearing the denture. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistic using Chi-square test and Fisher’s exact test.
The results showed the response rate at 93.96%. A total of elderly was female 56.43% with mean of age at 73.79 years old. The elderly wearing denture was regular use at 50.71%, the quality of life in oral health was higher level at 52.14%, and behaviors according caring and wearing denture was higher level at 51.42%. The factors associated with wearing denture among elderly patients in the namely of monthly income (p-value = 0.020), quality of life in oral health (p-value < 0.001), and behaviors according caring and wearing denture (p-value < 0.001). In conclusion, the quality of life in oral health was related with wearing denture among elderly patients. Moreover, the data must to development the service of denture among the elderly patients in the setting area.
