Abstract

The objective of this cross-sectional analytical study was to investigate factors influencing the severity of psoriasis in 291 patients at Sirindhorn Hospital, Khon Kaen, Data were collected by questionnaires and medical records during 1 August - 30 November 2023, and analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics, with a focus on correlation analysis through multiple logistic regression.

The study identified the 291 psoriasis patients treated at Sirindhorn Hospital, Khon Kaen found 205 patients (70.45%) experienced moderate to severe disease severity. It was found that factors significantly impacting the severity of psoriasis included stress, dietary habits, seasonal changes, and exposure to hot weather.

The study suggests the need for continuous monitoring and evaluation of behavior in psoriasis patients across varying severity levels. Moreover, it highlights the importance of educating patients with a psoriasis management guideline to enable self-care practices that effectively mitigate exacerbating factors.
