EFFICIENCY OF CREAM PRODUCT CONTAINING HERBAL COMPRESS EXTRACT TO REDUCE MUSCLE PAIN AMONG FARMERS, SA KAEO PROVINCE

This quasi-experimental research aimed to study the effectiveness of cream product containing herbal compress extracts to reduce muscle pain among sixty farmers in Sa Kaeo Province. Each group of thirty farmers were treated as experimental groups and control groups. Using multi-stage random sampling. A form measuring the level of muscle pain from product use was used as an instrument in this study. Descriptive statistics and t-test were used for analysis.
The results of this research found that main extracts from herbal compresses, including plai, kaffir lime skin, turmeric, tamarind leaves, lemongrass, and salacca flowers, produced a thick brown liquid and slightly viscous with yield of 4.32%. Herbal extracts are used as ingredients to develop products with appropriate stability and does not cause irritation. The results of efficacy study found that the product with an extract concentration of 4% was effective in reducing muscle pains in the experimental group after using the product for a period of 4 weeks, with statistical significance at the 0.05 level by using pain evaluation form as Visual Analogue Scales (VAS).
This research can take the main extracts from herbal compress and develop them into products that are convenient to use, promotes health and increasing the value of Thai herbs to commercialization.
