FACTORS ASSOCIATED TO KRATOM CONSUMPTION BEHAVIOR AMONG WORK-FORCE AGE IN TALAADTHAI, PATHUM THANI PROVINCE

This research study is a cross-sectional analytical study aimed at study the factors associated to kratom consumption behavior among the work-force in TalaadThai, Pathum Thani Province. The study sample consisted of 276 workers aged 20-59 years from the TalaadThai area, calculated using Daniel's formula and selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed with descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, minimum, and maximum values. Inferential statistics included Eta coefficient, Pearson's Correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression.
The results showed that the majority of the sample was male (77.9%). Most participants had a moderate level of knowledge about kratom (61.2%), a moderate attitude towards kratom (74.3%), and moderate kratom consumption behavior (59.4%). The factors significantly associated with kratom consumption behavior included sex, disease, knowledge about kratom, and attitude towards kratom. The findings of this study can inform actions to reduce risky behavior related to kratom use. Efforts should focus on enhancing knowledge about kratom, particularly regarding its effects and legal aspects, as well as shaping attitudes towards kratom among the working-age group. This approach will help reduce kratom usage or prevent its misuse among this demographic.
