EFFECTS OF PARTICIPATORY PROMOTING HEALTH LITERACY MODEL FOR MODIFICATION OF HEALTH BEHAVIOR FOR OBESITY PREVENTION IN AMONG OVERWEIGHT SCHOOL CHILDREN, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT PROVINCE

This quasi-experimental research aimed to investigate the effects of a participatory promoting health literacy model for modification of health behavior for obesity prevention in among overweight school children in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The sample of 60 overweight school children was divided into two groups; an experimental group (n = 30) and a control group (n =3 0). This study in January to April 2024 The research instrument was a questionnaire and a participatory promoting health literacy model which consists of 1)Decision Making 2)Implementation 3)Benefits and 4) Evaluation. The inferential statistics was mean, standard deviation, independent t-test and paired t-test.
The results of the comparison of health literacy and behaviors for obesity prevention among overweight school children; The experimental group more than pretest and the control group revealed significant difference and comparison of weight; The experimental group was less than pretest and the control group revealed significant difference (p-value<.001).
The suggestions from this research is that a participatory promoting health literacy model for obesity prevention among overweight school children that can be applied to overweight school children for preventing overweight school children.
