EARLY CHILD PARENTING BEHAVIOR OF CAREGIVER IN THE AREA HEALTH REGION 10

The purposes of this Cross-sectional analytical study research were to study situation early child parenting behavior of caregivers in the area health region 10 and the association among factors of socio-demographic characteristics with early child parenting behavior of caregiver.
Data collection was done by using interview to collect data from 460 children’s caregiver. The data were analyzed by multiple logistic regression.
The results revealed that situation early child parenting behavior of caregiver in the area health region 10, Thailand showed that caregivers was female 91.7%, average age was 44.9 years with a range of 15-80. Early child parenting behavior of caregivers was in moderate level at 51.3%. Factors associated with early child parenting behavior of caregiver were appeared of 2 factors as: 1) educational level of the caregiver (AOR = 2.1; 95%CI: 1.16 to 3.64; p-value = 0.013) and 2) living with parent of child (AOR = 1.6; 95%CI: 1.19 to 2.99; p-value = 0.025) Therefore, to enhance the caregiver parenting behavior in regarding the raising of childhood must encourage family to live together and promote educational opportunities for caregivers to have the highest level of education in order to bring knowledge to care for early childhood children which can create appropriate early child parenting behavior for caregivers.
