Abstract

A Study of local wisdom food consumption in postpartum mothers : case study in Phu Thai Community Nonhom Sub-district, Meuang District, Sakon Nakhon Province. Was studied the objective of this project were to the food consumption wisdom in postpartum mothers. This study was a qualitative research tools used Including interview forms by using a structured interview. Sample group selection by using a selection purposive sampling of 39 postpartum mothers and has passed childbirth by natural birth or a c-section (Caesarean Section) from January - December 2018. The data examination was interpretation Coupled with content analysis. The research findings were as follows Postpartum mothers are eating food such as pork, black chicken, frog, crab, climbing perch, banana blossom, angled loofah, pumpkin, ginger, galangal, cultivated banana, papaya, papaya, rice, brown rice. There were ways to cook, bake, broil, jin, stir-fry, soft-boiled. It was believed that it helps to healthy, milk secretion, blood circulation and no side effects. Abstinence from postpartum food such as wild animals, beef meat, buffalo meat, eggs, acacia pennata, Cha-om, pickle, durian, pineapple, etc. It was believed that it Side effect, dizziness, can’t breathe, tired, lochioschesis, and postpartum practice, such as lying by the fire, take a bath, drinking of warm water of herbs, sexual abstaince. The influence of eating and the practice of postpartum mothers as well local wisdom of postpartum mothers. Most family members will make decisions and get support from their mothers, elderly, relative or mother inlaw. The practice of remembering and passing on each other in the community. There is also a senior system in which the little ones have to respect and obey. Some mothers have knowledge of self-care in the modern age, they must be forced to follow the advice of the caregiver.
