The Satisfaction of Postnatal Mother toward Thai Traditional Midwifery of Postpartum Care in Pa Phyom Community, Phatthalung Province

Abstract
This descriptive research aimed to study of personal and pregnancy data of postnatal mother and to evaluate the satisfaction of postnatal mother toward Thai traditional midwifery of postpartum care in Pa Phayom community, Phatthalung province. One hundred and seventy six of postpartum mothers were enrolled in Thai traditional midwifery of postpartum care project from year 2016, year 2017 and year 2018. The instruments used for the study consisted of questionnaires and in-depth interview. Statistics used for data analysis consisted of percentage, mean, standard deviation and paired t-test. The results showed that the level of satisfaction toward the Thai traditional midwifery of postpartum care was high (year 2016: 4.56±0.16, year 2017: 4.59±0.14 and year 2018: 4.66±0.12). The herbal ball compression step was the highest satisfaction of Thai traditional midwifery of postpartum care. The postnatal mothers with different personal factors had differences in satisfaction of the Thai traditional midwifery of postpartum care at the significance level of 0.05. When compare the satisfaction among postnatal mothers who used or not used to use this care, it also had no differences at the significance level of 0.05. However, this research found that the postnatal mothers enrolled in the Thai traditional midwifery of postpartum care project were increasing (year 2016: 37 cases, year 2017: 56 cases and year 2018: 83 cases). Therefore, the encouragement of the Thai traditional midwifery of postpartum care in community is useful for postnatal mothers and necessary to continue to common practice in the future.
