Folk Wisdom in healing Paresis and Paralysis : Case Study of Mrs. Buapan Namchan of Ubon Ratchathani Province

Abstract
This research aims to gather knowledge of folk wisdom in healing paresis and paralysis of Mrs. Buaphan Numchan who lives in Amphoe Num Khun of Ubonratchathani Province. To compare her massage technique with the Royal Court type and the ten principal lines, qualitative data collections with the semi – structured interview, still images and VDO recording have been done. Analyze data by synthesizing information from interviews and documents, the results showed that Mrs. Buaphan Numchan has been treating allergy patients with paresis or paralysis from a period of more than 30 years with the method of massage inherited from her mother of which without herbs and magic spell. The steps of healing are starting from a preliminary history taking: the pulse, skin color, and physical examination. Massage treatments are 10 steps with the instruction to practice at home. The comparisons with the Royal Court type and the ten principal lines founded that they have some common pressing points and lines. The knowledge of Mrs. Buaphan Numchan should have a new research study to gain scientific evidence.
