A preliminary study on relieving primary dysmenorrhea with Ya-That-Ban-Job and Ya-Pra-Sa-Ka-Phrao

Abstract
This quasi-experimental research was a preliminary study on the relief of primary menstrual pain with Ya-That-Ban-Job and Ya-Pra-Sa-Ka-Phrao medicine. The volunteers were 30 female high school students with menstrual pain. The research instrument consisted of a case report form to record menstrual pain data consisting of personal information, menstrual history, characteristics of menstrual pain (Menstrual Symptom Questionnaire), and assessment of menstrual pain before and after taking medication using the Numerical Rating Scale. The results showed that the volunteers were 18 years old (86.67%), most had their first menstrual period at 11 years old (36.67%), and studied in Mathayom 6 (90%). The nature of menstrual pain was 56.67% spasmodic menstrual pain, including back pain, abdominal pain, and inner leg pain, and 43.33% congestive menstrual, with feelings of being irritable, restless, and impatient before menstruation. When comparing the difference in the mean menstrual pain before and after taking Ya-That-Ban-Job and Ya-Pra-Sa-Ka-Phrao medicine, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference (p-value <0.05) On average, menstrual pain before taking Ya-That-Ban-Job and Ya-Pra-Sa-Ka-Phrao medicinewas at the level of slight pain (x̄ = 5.93, S.D. = 2.00) and after taking the medicine was at the level of no pain at all (x̄ = 1.8, S.D. = 1.65). Therefore, those who experience menstrual pain can use Ya-That-Ban-Job and Ya-Pra-Sa-Ka-Phrao medicine to relieve menstrual pain with confidence. And it is another option to relieve menstrual pain.
