The Perception of and Participation in Quality Assurance among Royal Thai Air Force Nursing College Personnel

Educational quality assurance is one of the important missions of educational institutes which relies on cooperation from all personnel. This survey research aimed to study and compare perceptions of and participation in educational quality assurance among Royal Thai Air Force Nursing College Personnel classified by operational lines. The three groups participants for this study were the executives, instructors, and support personnel of the Royal Thai Air Force Nursing College and were recruited using the purposive sampling of 61 participants. Data were collected from August to September, 2022. Three questionnaires were used to collect the data regarding the participants’ perceptions of and participation in quality assurance, specifically: 1) a personal information questionnaire, 2) the Perception of Educational Quality Assurance questionnaire, and 3) the Participation in Educational Quality Assurance questionnaire. Each questionnaire’s content validity was assessed by 3 experts. The reliability of the questionnaires was determined using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, which yielded results ranging between 0.87 and 0.95 for each questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, means, and standard deviations, as well as statistics comparing the means of the three sample groups. The results showed the following: The perception of educational quality assurance among Royal Thai Air Force Nursing College Personnel was at a high level, with a of 4.29 (SD = 0.32). The level of participation in educational quality assurance among Royal Thai Air Force Nursing College Personnel was at a high level, with a mean of 4.11 (SD = 0.75). Additionally, the differences in the perceptions of the Royal Thai Air Force Nursing College Personnel regarding educational quality assurance in relation to their different operational lines were statistically significant at the 0.05 level (F (2, 58) = 3.873, p = .026). This indicates that the director of the institution should develop guidelines to improve the support staff’s perceptions of quality assurance to increase educational quality.
