The Indicators of Nursing Instructors’ Competencies in Phaboromarajchanok Institute

Nursing instructors play a crucial role in developing the quality of nursing students to meet professional standards. However, it has been observed that the indicators of nursing instructors’ competencies in the Praboromarajchanok Institute are not clear. This descriptive research aimed to test the congruence of nursing instructors’ competencies indicators developed from concepts, theories, and previous research. It also included the perspectives of scholars and empirical data. There were divided into three points as follows: 1) study the appropriateness of indicators for inclusion in the model. 2) test the fitness of the developed model. 3) verify the weights of the main components, sub-components, and indicators. The participants consisted of nursing instructors at Praboromarajchanok Institute in the academic year 2022, with a total of 652 individuals selected using proportional stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a nursing instructor competency indicator questionnaire. The Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient was .96. Data were collected through Google Forms and analyzed using descriptive statistics and confirmatory factor analysis. The research findings indicated that 1) nursing Instructor competency indicators in Praboromarajchanok Institute consisted of 4 main components, 12 sub-components, and 87 indicators. 2) the developed model is congruent with empirical data. 3) the weights of the main components ranged from .82 to 1.00, which was higher than the standard of .70. The weights of sub-components ranged from .74 to .91, and the weights of indicators ranged from .54 to .85, all of which were higher than the standard of .30. Therefore, there should be a development of nursing instructor competencies at the level of main components, sub-components, and indicators.
