This cross-sectional survey investigated the relationship between personal characteristics and healthcare attitudes among students in the Faculty of Arts at a university. The study included 339 undergraduate students enrolled in the 2024 academic year. Researchers collected data using a structured questionnaire with a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.84, administered online from November 25 to December 10, 2024. They analyzed the data using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and the Chi-square test to examine associations between variables.
The results indicated that the majority of participants were female (61.36%), with a mean age of 20.71 years. Most students reported no underlying health conditions (95.58%), and the average monthly expenditure was 6,583 THB. Regarding healthcare attitudes, 61.36% of the students demonstrated a high level of positive attitudes. Among the personal characteristics examined, having an underlying health condition was the only factor significantly associated with healthcare attitudes (X2=8.211, p-value = 0.016). The findings show that students’ health conditions influence their attitudes toward healthcare.
These findings can inform health policies and programs that support preventive attitudes and encourage the development of sustainable healthy habits at the university.
