A comparison of efficacy of Ya-Tha-Pra-Sen between 40% Ethyl alcohol solvent and Vinegar solvent for Pain Reducing in Thai Traditional Diagnosis of Lom-Jub-Pong-Hang-Kao At Thai Traditional and Complimentary Medicine Hospital

Abstract
This research aims to comparison the efficacy of Ya-Tha-Pra-Sen between 40% Ethyl alcohol solvent and vinegar solvent for treatment in patients with Lom Jab Pong-Hang-Kao who had knee pain at Thai Traditional and Complimentary Medicine Hospital. The study designed with randomized controlled trial involved 2 groups of 30 volunteers each. Group 1 received Ya-Tha-Pra-Sen 40% Ethyl alcohol solvent and group 2 received Ya-Tha-Pra-Sen Vinegar solvent. Both groups received to apply the treatments to their knees 3 times a day, morning, noon and before bedtime, for 7 days. Evaluated before and after the medication with volunteer data, visual analog scale and Western Ontario and McMaster University (WOMAC) and goniometer. The results within group showed that group 1 had ability to use the knee improved, knee pain decreased and the degree of knee flexion significantly (p < 0.05). Group 2, showed that ability to use the knee improved, knee pain decreased and the degree of knee flexion significantly (p < 0.05). The comparison between groups were found the ability to use the knee movement improved insignificantly (p > 0.05), pain decreased and the degree of knee flexion significantly (p < 0.05).
Therefore, Ya-Tha-Pra-Sen recipe is effective in the ability to movement of the knee improved, reducing knee pain, and the degree of knee movement improved. Meanwhile, was found Ya-Tha-Pra-Sen vinegar solvent have more effectiveness than Ya-Tha-Pra-Sen 40% Ethyl alcohol solvent for pain reducing and increase the degree of knee flexion.
