บทคัดย่อ
เนื้องอกภายในหัวใจพบได้น้อยมากในเวชปฏิบัติ ส่วนใหญ่มักเกิดจากการแพร่กระจายของมะเร็งจากอวัยวะอื่น มิกโซมาเป็นเนื้องอกชนิดไม่ร้ายแรงที่เกิดขึ้นภายในหัวใจที่พบมากที่สุด ส่วนมากไม่มีอาการมักตรวจพบโดยบังเอิญจากการตรวจคลื่นเสียงสะท้อนหัวใจ มีเพียงส่วนน้อยเท่านั้นที่มีอาการ ได้แก่ เหนื่อยง่าย แน่นหน้าอก หน้ามืด เวียนศีรษะ หมดสติ ใจสั่น ภาวะหัวใจวาย ลิ้นหัวใจรั่ว ภาวะอุดตันของหลอดเลือดจากการที่ชิ้นส่วนของก้อนเนื้องอกหลุดกระจายไปตามหลอดเลือด เช่น การอุดตันของหลอดเลือดในปอด สมอง ลำไส้ ปลายมือและเท้า และหลอดเลือดหัวใจ
รายงานผู้ป่วยหญิงอายุ 44 ปี แสดงอาการนำด้วยเรื่องแขนซ้ายและใบหน้าด้านซ้ายอ่อนแรงแบบทันทีทันใด ตรวจพบภาวะขาดเลือดของเนื้อสมองด้านขวาแบบเฉียบพลันจากโรคหลอดเลือดสมองตีบ หลังจากได้รับการสืบค้นเพิ่มเติมเนื่องจากเป็นโรคหลอดเลือดสมองตีบในคนอายุน้อย ตรวจพบโรคหลอดเลือดสมองตีบจากการที่มีชิ้นส่วนของก้อนเนื้องอกมิกโซมาที่อยู่ภายในหัวใจห้องบนซ้ายหลุดกระจายไปอุดตันหลอดเลือดสมอง ซึ่งเป็นสาเหตุที่พบได้น้อยของการเกิดโรคหลอดเลือดสมองตีบ แต่เป็นสาเหตุสำคัญที่เมื่อได้รับการวินิจฉัยแล้ว สามารถรักษาให้หายขาด และป้องกันการเกิดซ้ำได้
