Attitude of the Pregnant Mothers and the Guardians Towards Dental Heath Advice Programme in Lamplaimat District : Buriram Province 2004.

Abstract

Background: Dental health knowledge of pregnant mothers and guardians effect on the dental health of infants including post natal dental health prevention and care.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the attitude of the pregnant mothers, and the guardians from Lamplaimat District : Buriram Province, toward the present dental health advice programme. The attitudes are about the suitability and the modernization of this programme for the dental health advice programme.
Research design: This research is prospective descriptive study.
Subject: Pregnant mothers and the guardians. Subjects were selected to study by simple random sampling. The sample size to study is 50 from population 395.
Materials and Methods: The 50 questionnaires were randomly distributed to the pregnant mothers and the guardians of from Lamplaimat District : Buriram Province and the suggestion of the questionnaires.
Results: The 50 questionnaires are analyzed. The 25 questionnaires from the pregnant mothers (50%) and the 25 questionnaires from the guardians (50%). The results revealed that in all aspects were ranked as good. Attitude of the pregnant mothers and the guardians toward dental health advice programme is difference statistically siginficant at 0.05.
Conclusion: The majority dental health advice programme is good. Most of the pregnant mothers and the guardians suggested that review session should be beneficial in practice.
