Lamellar ichthyosis : A case report

Abstract
Lamellar ichthyosis is rare but most severe form of congenital ichthyosis. An incidence of 1 : 300.000 births has been suggested. The inheritance is autosomal recessive. The case of a male colloidian baby is reported with family history of consanguineous marriage. The keratinous colloidian membrane desquamates in large sheets during second weeks of life eclabium subsides but ectropian remains. The baby survived because of supportive care in Neonatal intensive care unit. Now he is over four years old with typical appearance of Lamellar ichthyosis, he had some delayed growth and development. This is the first case report of Lamellar ichthyosis in Sisaket Hospital.
