Factors Associated with Severity in COVID-19 Patients in Chok chai Hospital, Nakhon Ratchasima Province

Abstract
Background: Since December 2019, COVID-19, also known as Coronavirus Disease 2019 or SARS-CoV-2, has spread around the globe has been detected in Wuhan, China. In Thailand, the first confirmed case was on January 12, 2020, and the spread has been ongoing since March 2020.
Objective: The goal of this study was to examine the factors related to severity and hospitalization in COVID-19 patients at Chokchai Hospital.
Methods: This retrospective analytical research study collected 467 patients' inpatient medical records from 1 January 2021 to 28 February 2022. The general demographic data, chi-square test, and multiple logistic regression were analyzed in this investigation.
Results: The parameters connected to COVID-19 pneumonia severity were age over 60 and BMI over 25 kg/m2 which had severity levels greater than 1.64 and 1.77, respectively. The patient which essential hypertension or diabetes mellitus type 2 with COVID-19 pneumonia had higher severity. Individuals with a history of more than two immunizations had lowered their severity by 0.16 times.
Conclusions: The patient who had advanced age, obesity, an underlying illness, and no immunization predicted for severity of COVID-19 pneumonia in Chokchai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand.
